Phani Gaddipati 's Stacks Flashcards bests hundreds of entries in first AdMob Student App Challenge Gaddipati's creation, called Stacks Flashcards, bested hundreds of apps submitted by hundreds of students from 90 countries. Gaddipati, who is majoring in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins, won a trip to San Francisco to visit Google headquarters. "At first I was pretty much in disbelief and kept rereading the email to make sure I wasn't misinterpreting it," Gaddipati said. "First thing I did was tell my family." This was the first year for Google's AdMob Student App Challenge. The objective was to build an app that used the mobile ad platform AdMob to allow it to make money. India's Capt. Parvathaneni Venkata Krishna Mohan was elected president of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday.  Hyderabad's Capt. Mohan, who is also president of the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) and was the vice-president of the IBSF, polled 28 votes to 21 by incumbent Jim Leacy.  Capt. Mohan thus became only the second Indian after the late RK Vissanji to head the IBSF Board.  In the elections for the vice-president's post, Maxime Cassis of France defeated Alamgir Sheikh of Pakistan by 27 votes to 23.

Gottipati Brahmaiah (December 3, 1889–1984) was a freedom fighter, popularly known as Ryotu Pedda (Leader of Farmers). He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1982. Born in Ghantasala (Divi Taluka of Krishna district) in Andhra Pradesh, India; he was educated at Noble High School, Machilipatnam, he organized the library movement and the adult education movement in 1917. Washington, D.C. — The Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad was recently awarded to Shilpa Gadde , Indian American founder of a dog rescue organization called Rescue Without Borders that rescues injured, sick, orphaned and special needs dogs living in India. The award was created through the Associates of the American Foreign Service Worldwide in 1990 with the direct support and encouragement of former Secretary of State James Baker and his wife Susan. According to examiner.com, Gadde was already helping animals in the United States when her husband was transferred to New Delhi. Once she arrived and saw the conditions, she immediately knew she needed to help the street dogs. Hyderabad, Nov 8: Yalamanchili Satyanarayana Chowdary from Andhra Pradesh is likely to be inducted into the union cabinet, which is set to be expanded on Sunday.   YS Chowdary, popularly known as Sujana Chowdary, belongs to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and is a member of Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh.  Prime Minister Narendra Modi telephoned the MP on Saturday morning and asked them to be available in Delhi on Sunday morning, sources in the two parties said. Chowdary, a businessman, is the first-time MP and is considered close to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He will be the second leader from TDP to become central minister from Andhra Pradesh. Ashok Gajapathi Raju is already a cabinet minister and holds the civil aviation portfolio.

NAGPUR: Chief national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand must be a happy man on Sunday. For long, he was craving for a second string players to rise to the occasion to challenge the seniors. The results on the sixth and final day of the All India Senior Ranking Badminton tournament at the Kandla Port Trust Stadium in Gandhidham, Gujarat, would certainly bring a smile on Gopichand's face.  Out of five, three finals produced new winners which is definitely a heartening thing for the Indian badminton.  Teenagers Kaushal Dharmamer and Gadde Ruthvika Shivani finally justified their immense talent to clinch men's and women's singles title s, respectively.  Similarly, tall and lanky Andhra Pradesh girl 12th seeded Gadde Ruthvika Shivani pipped her Gopichand Academy practice partner and top seed Rituparna Das in the women's singles by 21-16, 21-19 , played between two teenagers.

Moturi Satyanarayana (2 February 1902 – 6 March 1995) was an Indian freedom fighter alongside Mohandas Gandhi until 1947 and then a member of the Constituent Assembly of India which drafted the Indian Constitution. He was a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha (the Upper House in the Indian government) until 1966. He was instrumental in making Hindi an official language in the Indian Constitution, while tolerating the other major Indian languages.
