Hong Kong firm buys Oakridge International School for Rs.1400 crores

Hong Kong-based school chain Nord Anglia Education Inc. has entered India by acquiring People Combine Education India Initiatives Ltd's (Promoted by Tummala Naga Prasad and Yarlagadda Venkata Rajasekhar Babu ) schools under the Oakridge International brand. Nord Anglia, owned by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) and Baring Private Equity Asia, has acquired five Oakbridge K-12 schools for kindergarten to grade 12 students. The five schools are located in Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Bengaluru and Mohali, and have a total of 7,000 students, People Combine said in a statement. The deal will allow Oakbridge International schools to expand their offering, People Combine group chairman Tummala Naga Prasad said. The companies did not disclose financial details but a person familiar with the transaction said that the deal size is likely to be around $200 million (Rs 1,400 crore). Esha Chandra Kode Miss Teen India USA 2019

Esha Chandra Kode   (16) from New Jersey won the Miss Teen India USA 2019 crown out of 75 finalists from all over the United States. The annual pageant also celebrated the thirty seventh anniversary of Miss India USA. Her parents Samatha and Sreenivas are migrated to USA from Vijayawada.  Started by the New York-based community leaders Dharmatma Saran and Neelam Saran, under the banner of the India Festival Committee, 35 years ago, Miss India USA is the longest running Indian pageant outside India. The committee has been conducting the Miss Teen India USA pageant since 2012 and the Mrs. India USA contest since 2013. Eash Kode will now participate in the India Worldwide pageant to be held in Mumbai in 2020.
