Spooks: The Great Good has been confirmed for release next year.
The spy thriller, based on the BBC and Kudos Film and Television's long-running TV series, will open in UK cinemas on May 8, 2015 through Pinewood Pictures.
Game of Thrones star Kit Harington will lead the cast of the movie, with Spooks veteran Peter Firth reprising his role as Harry Pearce.
The storyline focuses on Pearce being forced to resign after high-profile terrorist Adam Qasim (Elyes Gabel) escapes from MI5 custody.
When Pearce disappears off a bridge into the Thames, former agent Will Holloway (Harington) is drafted in from Moscow to foil a bomb thread from Qasim and uncover the truth surrounding the disappearance of his former mentor.
Spooks: The Greater Good was written by Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, with regular series director Bharat Nalluri behind the camera.
Spooks, known as MI-5 in the US, ran for 86 episodes from 2002 to 2011. It also spawned a short-lived spinoff, Spooks: Code 9, in 2008.
Matthew Macfadyen, David Oyelowo, Keeley Hawes, Jenny Agutter, Rupert Penry Jones, Richard Armitage, Sophia Myles and Lara Pulver all featured among the cast over Spooks' ten series.
