India's Capt. Parvathaneni Venkata Krishna Mohan was elected president of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation (IBSF) at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday.
Hyderabad's Capt. Mohan, who is also president of the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI) and was the vice-president of the IBSF, polled 28 votes to 21 by incumbent Jim Leacy.
Capt. Mohan thus became only the second Indian after the late RK Vissanji to head the IBSF Board.
In the elections for the vice-president's post, Maxime Cassis of France defeated Alamgir Sheikh of Pakistan by 27 votes to 23.
