Lakshminaickenpalayam Ramaswamy Govindasamy Naidu ( 1894 - 1970 ) was born as the fourth child to Ramaswamy Naidu and Chinnasamy Ammal on the 7 th of January 1894. L.R.Govindasamy Naidu was popularly known as LRG Naidu and he was an entrepreneur with a vision which encompassed several aspects of commerce and social life. He was closely associated with the Industrial Scientist GD Naidu from his early days. LRG Naidu married Ranganayaki Ammal and couple made Tirupur their home from the year 1924. The couple was blessed with four dynamic sons and a daughter Vijayalakshmi who was married to V.N.Ramachandran of Premier Mills.   It was from Tirupur that he grew from good to great and he ensured that his enterprises and policies were built to last. Rajagopal Kantamneni began helping poor kids suffering from major illnesses after his daughter died from a rare cancer Rajagopal Kantamneni, 50, who works in a top tech company in Bangalore, got a call out of the blue from an oncologist in Hyderabad. "A 14- year-old boy, Syed Rahil, has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia - a cancer of white blood cells. His parents are too poor to afford the treatment. I will do the operation free of cost, but the other costs have to be borne by someone." Kantamneni immediately agreed to raise the money, which turned out to be a whopping Rs 3 lakh. And the boy survived.Kantamneni is different from the other philanthropists in that he actively looks for poor children suffering from rare diseases in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Wakefield, West Yorkshire October 30, 2009 -- Preparations for the second charity bike ride in aid of the charity Heal are well under way. A group of adventurous people from the UK and the USA will be flying into Bangalore on New Years Day and will be met by a group of Heal supporters from India. The 190 mile bike ride will raise around £100,000 for the charity which supports orphaned and underprivileged children in Andhra Pradesh. Heal was started in 1992 by Dr Koneru Prasad, a doctor from Peterborough, UK who donated his family home in Guntur, India to the fledgling charity. Now Heal provides education and healthcare for over 1,000 children in Andhra Pradesh, and has ambitious plans to extend its reach to 15,000 children by 2015. A CHARITY that started life in the city is set to go global, helping thousands of children languishing in the slums of India. Peterborough was the birthplace of HEAL – Health and Education for All . Now its founder Dr Koneru Prasad , who started by donating his ancestral home in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, to house orphaned children, will be casting his net across the Atlantic and further afield. In the coming months, HEAL American will take shape. Also on the horizon are branches in Canada and, eventually, every state in India. Next month a glitzy event in Peterborough is set to raise cash that will be used to provide shelter, education and health care for the poorest of children in India. And as soon as it is over, the kindhearted GP at the Westwood Clinic in Wicken Way, Westwood, Peterborough, will be off to Atlanta to set up a branch of HEAL, the organisation he founded in 1992.
