P. Ramachandran (July 11, 1921–May 23, 2001) was an Indian politician and Member of the Legislative Assembly. In parliament he represented Tamil Nadu. He was also Governor of Kerala (1982–1988). Born on July 11, 1921, Mr. Ramachandran, a veteran Congressman and a close associate of Kamaraj, is the managing trustee of the TNCC Charitable Trust. Mr. Ramachandran, popularly known as Paa. Raa., took to politics early in life when he joined the Congress during the freedom struggle. He was a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 1957 to 1967 and the chief whip from 1962 to 1967. Coimbatore-based Suguna Group , (B.Soundara Rajan, Chairman and MD) one of the largest producers of poultry broilers in the country, forayed into the education sector by launching Suguna Institute for Poultry Management (SIPM) on Thursday. The institute is established under the Suguna Foundation. Suguna, with its 25 years of experience in poultry, will offer courses related to poultry and poultry-allied issues. “Suguna will provide continuous support to rural entrepreneurs in setting up and running their own farms. SIPM offers 100 per cent placement to students upon completion of any of the diploma or certificate courses,” the company said in a press release. * Firm has leased 100,000 hectares in Ethiopia ADDIS ABABA, May 9 - Indian-listed Karuturi Global , which has leased land in Ethiopia for commercial farming, plans to export cereals, sugar and edible oil to South Sudan and Kenya upon completing cultivation in 2014, its director said on Wednesday. The Horn of Africa country has earmarked some four million hectares of land for firms seeking to invest in agriculture, often around remote and sparsely-populated regions in its west. Karuturi Global is among 32 firms that have snapped up land in the vast country, and is farming rice and cereals on its 100,000 hectares plot in Gambella province. Managing Director Sai Ramakrishna Karaturi told Reuters the firm has so far completed cultivation of 15,000 hectares, and plans to complete 20,000 hectares of cereals and 15,000 hectares of sugar cane by next year. HYDERABAD: Infrastructure firm Madhucon Projects (Nama Nageswara Rao, Chairman and MD) announced that its first coal-fired power project with a capacity of 150MW has commenced commercial operations from Friday. The power project, with a total capacity of 1,920 MW to come up in three phases near Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, is being implemented by special purpose vehicle Simhapuri Energy Pvt Ltd. The first phase of the project will have two units of 150MW each and second phase will have similar capacities. In the third phase, the company plans to have two units of 660MW each. The company said the second unit of 150MW is expected to be operational by June, while two units of 150MW each in second phase are expected to begin operations before the year-end. Madhucon Projects, which is into power, coal and roads with an order book of Rs 7,500 crore, has recently forayed into setting up of power projects in the overseas market. The company, which has technical support from Russia's Transstroy Company, has been strategically bidding and executing projects in Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and their neighbouring states. Transstroy (India) Ltd, an emerging player in highway road projects, is diversifying into desalination projects and water business. The Hyderabad-based infrastructure company has an order book of Rs 13,000 crore. A large chunk of these contracts are road projects of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Interestingly, two states — Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh account for Rs 10,000 crore of these projects. The 10-year-old company, has been placed L1 in five of the seven bids for major projects of NHAI which closed on March 31. But on Wednesday, Coppell did the improbable. It won the 7-5A District Championship, setting a school record 292 in the first round in the process. Chaithra Katamneni, Tiffany Breitenwischer, Taylor Icenberger, Aja Zarrehparvar and Sol Lee were the five Coppell teammates to contribute at Bridlewood Country Club in Flower Mound. Chaitra Katamneni shot a 145 over two days, taking first place overall. Breitenwischer finished in third place with a 148. Sol Lee was fourth place with a 149. Icenberger and Zarrehparvar finished 12th and 18th respectively.

 HYDERABAD: Has AICC spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdary become another power centre in state politics? It appears so considering that whenever she is in Hyderabad, her residence buzzes with activity. On Sunday chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy visited her residence but the official reason given was that he chose to call on her in the day since he could not attend her daughter's wedding. "We belong to the same party. We had so many things to discuss. We sat and discussed them," Renuka Chowdary said, speaking to media persons later. Kiran Kumar Reddy's sudden meeting with Renuka fulled speculation in the wake of reports that the party high command, after the presidential election, might take drastic measures to set the state Congress house in order and one of the measures might be change of guard in the state.

Madhucon Projects (Nama Nageswara Rao, Chairman & MD) has won a tender in Indonesia to build a 300-MW (2x150-MW) coal-fired steam power plant. PT Madhucon Sriwijaya Power, an Indonesian special purpose vehicle, has entered into a power purchase agreement with the Indonesian Government electricity body PTPLN (PERSERO), to generate and supply 300-MW gross capacity for 25 years. The PPA was signed by Nama Krishnaiah, Director of Madhucon, and Nur Pamudji, Director of the Indonesia Company. The total project cost is around USD 410 million. The plant will be located near to the existing Dawas coal mine of Madhucon Group`s company PT Madhucon Indonesia. Madhucon Projects is an infrastructure company with interests in highways, road, power, coal, dams, irrigation and railways.

'ఉమ్మారెడ్డి వెంకటేశ్వర్లు' ఒక సారి ఆత్మ పరిశీలన చేసుకుంటే బాగుంటుంది. ఉమ్మారెడ్డి కి తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీ ఎన్నో అవకాశాలు ఇచ్చింది, ఆయనకు MLA, MP మంత్రి పదవులకు ఎంపిక చేసింది, ఆయన గత 19 సంవత్సరాలుగా పార్టీ పోలిట్ బ్యూరో సభ్యునిగా కొనసాగుతున్నారు. ఇంకా ఆయనకు పదవీ దాహం తీరలేదు, 'రాజ్య సభ' సభ్యత్వం కోసం ఆశ పడ్డారు, ఇలా పదవులన్నీ తనకే కావాలనుకున్నారు. నిజంగా ఆయన పార్టీలో కాపులకు న్యాయం జరగాలని భావిస్తే తనకు కాకుండా పార్టీలోనే మరో కాపు నాయకునికి పదవి కావాలని సిఫార్సు చేస్తే బాగుండేది. తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీలో ఎన్నో కీలకమైన పదవులు అనుభవించిన 'వృద్ధ జంబుకాలు' పార్టీని వదిలి వెళుతూ పార్టీ మీద, పార్టీ అధినాయకుని మీద విమర్శలు చేస్తున్నారంటే వాళ్ళెంత ఆత్మ ద్రోహం చ...

ఉప ఎన్నికలకు కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ విడుదల చేసిన అభ్యర్ధుల జాబితా చూస్తే జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి తో కిరణ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి లాలుచీ పడ్డాడని స్పష్టంగా అర్ధమౌతుంది. కిరణ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి ఒక రాష్ట్ర ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా కాకుండా ఒక కులానికి, వర్గానికి ప్రతినిధిగా, జగన్ మోహన్ రెడ్డికి కోవర్టుగా వ్యహరిస్తున్నాడు. ఈ విషయం గతంలో కూడా అనేక సందర్భాలలో వెల్లడైంది, తనకు ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా రోజులు దగ్గర పడ్డాయని భావించిన కిరణ్ కుమార్ రెడ్డి చివరి రోజులలో తన చర్యల ద్వారా జగన్ మోహన్ రెడ్డి సహాయ పడాలని,  తద్వారా కుల బాంధవుడిగా, రాజశేఖర రెడ్డి ఋణం తీర్చుకున్న వాడిగా  పేరు తెచ్చుకోవాలని ఆశిస్తున్నాడు. కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ తరుపున కావాలనే రాజంపేట, రాయచోటి, ఒంగోలు నియోజక వర్గాలలో బలమైన 'బలిజ' కులస్తులను విస్మరించి తన వర్గం వారికి కట్టబెట్టాడు. ఇక్కడ 'రెడ్డి' సామాజిక వర్గం ఓట్లు ఎట్టి పరిస్థితుల్లోను కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి పడే అవకాశం లేదని తెలిసి కూడా తన సామాజిక వర్గం వారిని నిలబెట్టటం వెనుక 'జగన్' ప్రయోజనం పొందాలనే వ్యూహం అర్ధమౌతుంది. అలాగే 'మాచెర్ల' నియోజకవర్గంలో బలమైన BC వర్గం వారిని విస్మరించి తన వర్గం వార...

జగన్ పార్టీలో ఇప్పటికే చాలా మంది చోటా, మోటా కమ్మ నాయకులూ ఎందరో చేరారు. కృష్ణ, గుంటూరు, ఖమ్మం జిల్లాల్లో  తెలుగుదేశం, కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీల్లో దిగువ శ్రేణి నాయకులు, ముందుగా చేరితే ముఖ్య నాయకులుగా గుర్తింపు వస్తుందనే ఉద్దేశంతో ఆ పార్టీలో చేరారు. వాసిరెడ్డి పద్మ లాంటి వాళ్ళు ఆ పార్టీలో నెల జీతానికి పనిచేస్తున్నారు. (ఈవిడ ఏ పార్టీలో ఉన్న ఆ పార్టీ నాయకుడికి చెక్క భజన బాగా చేస్తారు, ఆయన మీద ఈగ వాలిన సహించారు, తను తీసుకునే జీతానికి పూర్తి న్యాయం చేస్తారు) మాకినేని పెదరత్తయ్య లాంటి మతి భ్రమించిన నాయకులు, జేష్ట రమేష్ బాబు, తాతినేని పద్మావతి, పువ్వాడ అజయ్ లాంటి పలుకుబడి లేని నాయకులు, తమ తమ పార్టీలలో ఎప్పటికి ఎదగలేమని భావించి, వచ్చే ఎన్నికలలో జగన్ పార్టీలో సీటు ఆశించి ఆ పార్టీలో చేరారు. విచిత్రమేమిటంటే గత ఎన్నికలలో ఈ బృందం అంతా 'రాజశేఖర రెడ్డి'ని అత్యంత అవినీతి పరుడిగా, నేరస్తుడిగా విమర్శలు చేసిన వాళ్ళే. ఇకపోతే ఈ మధ్యనే జగన్ పార్టీలో చేరిన 'గద్దె బాబూ రావు, గిరిబాబు' చెబితే వాళ్ళ భార్యలు కూడా ఆ పార్టీకి ఓటు చేయరు. వీళ్ళు 'గుడ్డి కన్ను' లాంటి వారు. గుడ్డికన్ను మూసినా, తెర...

జూన్ లో జరుగబోయే ఉప ఎన్నికల తరువాత 'జగన్' అరెస్ట్ కు CBI రంగం సిద్ధం చేసినట్లు తెలుస్తుంది. వాస్తవంగా అయితే ఏప్రిల్ నెలలోనే 'జగన్'ను అరెస్ట్ చేస్తారని అందరు భావించారు. 'విజయసాయి రెడ్డికి' బెయిల్ ఇచ్చిన సందర్భంలో CBI కోర్టులో జడ్జి 'ప్రధాన నిందితుడయిన జగన్' ను వదిలి రెండవ నిందితుడిగా  ఉన్న 'విజయసాయి రెడ్డిని' ఎలా అరెస్ట్ చేస్తారని CBI లాయర్ ను ప్రశ్నించారు. వాస్తవంగా జగన్ మోహన్ రెడ్డిని అప్పుడే CBI అరెస్ట్ చేసి ఉండాలి కాని, రాబోయే ఉప ఎన్నికలలో 'జగన్ పార్టీకి' అరెస్ట్ విషయం ఒక అస్త్రంలా ఉపయోగ పడవచ్చు అనే భయంతో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ ప్రభుత్వం CBIని అర్ధించి జగన్ అరెస్ట్ ను తాత్కాలికం గా వాయిదా వేయించింది. వై.యస్.ఆర్ ద్వారా ఆర్ధిక లబ్ది పొందిన కంపెనీలు జగన్ సంస్థలలో అత్యధిక ప్రీమియం తో వాటాలు కొనుగోలు చేసాయి. కొన్ని ఉరు పేరు, అడ్రస్ లేని సూట్ కేసు కంపెనీలు కూడా జగన్ కంపెనీలో పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టాయి. ఆర్ధిక నేరాల అదుపు విభాగం ఈ విషయాలన్నింటి పైన దృష్టి పెట్టి పక్కా సాక్ష్యాలను సేకరించింది. వై.యస్.ఆర్ కు ముడుపులు సమర్పించుకుని, జగన్ సంస్థలలో ...

జూన్ నెలలో జరుగబోయే 18 అసెంబ్లీ స్థానాల ఉప ఎన్నికలలో కమ్మవారి జనాభా ఎక్కువగా ఉండి అభ్యర్ధుల గెలుపు ఓటములను నిర్ణయించగల అసెంబ్లీ నియోజక వర్గాలు ప్ రత్తిపాడు (యస్.సి), రైల్వే కోడూరు (యస్.సి), మాచెర్ల, ఒంగోలు, ఉదయగిరి . గెలుపు ఓటములు ప్రభావితం చేయగల స్థానాలు అనంతపూర్ అర్బన్, రాజంపేట, తిరుపతి. పై ఆరు జనరల్ స్థానాల్లో కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ ఒక్క స్థానాన్ని కూడా కమ్మ వారికి కేటాయించ లేదు.  తెలుగు దేశం పార్టీ మాచెర్ల, ఒంగోలు, ఉదయగిరి స్థానాలు 'కమ్మ వారికి' కేటాయించి మిగిలిన మూడు స్థానాలు 'బలిజ కులస్తులకు' కేటాయించింది.  గుంటూరు జిల్లా 'మాచెర్ల ' స్థానంలో 'తెలుగు దేశం' పార్టీని కమ్మవారిలో అత్యధికులు బలపరుస్తారు. ఇక్కడ కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీలో కాని, 'జగన్' పార్టీలో కాని చెప్పుకో తగ్గ 'కమ్మ' నాయకులు లేరు. రెడ్డి వర్గంలో మెజారిటీ ఓట్లు 'జగన్' పార్టీకి, తక్కువ శాతం వోట్లు కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీకి పడవచ్చు, ఇక్కడ BC ల వోట్లు అభ్యర్ధుల గెలుపును నిర్దేశించే ఆవకాశం ఉంది. పార్టీలో నాయకులందరూ కలిసి కట్టుగా పనిచేస్తే ఈ స్థానంలో 'తెలుగు దేశం పార్టీకి ...
