Waycool valuation nears $200 Mn

Agritech startup Waycool has raised Rs 145 crore or close to $20 million in a fresh round from existing backers Lightstone, Lightbox Ventures and Netherland-based FMO Development Bank. Waycool has approved the allotment of 84,407 Series C 2 preference shares at an issue price of Rs 17,180.46 per share to raise Rs 145 crore, regulatory filings show. Lightsone and Lightbox have put in Rs 61.5 crore each whereas FMO invested Rs 21.7 crore. In February 2020, the Chennai-based startup had  secured $32 million  in an equity and debt funding round led by Lightbox. The company also raised $7.8 million in a debt funding round from Samunnati, RBL Bank, and venture debt firm InnoVen Capital in December 2020. As per  Fintrackr ’s estimates, Waycool has reached a post-money valuation of Rs 1,400-1,450 crore or $193-199 million after the fresh capital infusion. Kasthuri Sreenivasan   (1917-1991) was among India’s most well-known textile technologists and industrial sociologists in the decades that followed the country’s independence. President Appoints Justice NV Ramana As Next Chief Justice Of India

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind has appointed Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana as the 48th Chief Justice of India, accepting the   recommendation     made by the outgoing CJI SA Bobde, who is retiring on April 23 . As the CJI, Justice Ramana will have a term till August 26, 2022. Before his elevation to the Supreme Court on February 17, 2014, Justice Ramana was the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. The World’s Largest Microbrewery Is Now Open In Bangalore Spread Across 1.3 Lakh Sq Ft

Ironhill India, a chain of craft breweries, opened what it claims to be the world’s largest microbrewery in Bengaluru with an investment of ₹30 crore.  Ironhill India, a microbrewery chain founded by Teja Chekuri in 2017. Gopi Chand Cherukuri is the franchise partner for Ironhill Bangalore . Spread across 1.3 lakh sq ft, that can accommodate over 1,500 people at a time, the microbrewery will serve eight varieties of beer with an alcohol content of 4-7 per cent at ₹260–300 for a 500-ml mug. Due to the pandemic, the microbrewery is only operating outdoors, which has a seating capacity of 800 people. The microbrewery is located in the IT hub of Marathahalli, on a two-acre spread amidst art deco pieces, installation art, soft music and water bodies that create small pockets of privacy for its customers.
