Nick Cherukuri Inventor and Founder CEO of ThirdEye Gen

Nick Cherukuri is an American entrepreneur and inventor based in Princeton, New Jersey. He is better known for his work in engineering and Augmented Reality (AR) and Mixed Reality (MR). He is the founder and CEO of ThirdEye Gen, an augmented reality company. In 2019, he was selected into Forbes 30 Under 30 for Enterprise Technology.

Cherukuri was born and raised in Princeton, NJ into a family of engineers. He attended The Lawrenceville School and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania. While a student he was a member of the Penn Men’s Rugby team and also was in the Golf and Rowing clubs. As a student he was an intern at a Defense contractor company as well as a student tutor. At University of Pennsylvania, he helped found the Penn AR/VR Club which was one of the first college clubs formed to study Augmented Reality. In an interview with STARTUP INFO, he attributed his interest in AR/MR from the creation of this club, “While in school, I co-founded the Penn Virtual & Augmented Reality Club, which quickly grew to several hundred members.”

In 2016, Cherukuri founded ThirdEye Gen, a sotfware company where he serves as its CEO. The company officially left stealth mode in 2017 and came to market with its first augmented reality product the X1 AR Smart Glasses.The company grew over the next few years focusing on enterprise AR tech and it developed its next X2 MR Smart Glasses which was released in 2020. The X2 included MR technology such as 6 DoF tracking, plane detection and an all-in-one ruggedized design.

ThirdEye also developed custom subscription software for healthcare and field services that enabled remote telepresence and other features. Cherukuri was granted several patents in this field, later those patents were assined to ThirdEye. Currently, ThirdEye has presence in over a dozen countries and sells worldwide to military, healthcare and field services use cases. ThirdEye has launched the ThirdEye Foundation which will donate AR tech to charity and underprivileged areas with the goal to increase education.

A road named after Veerasamy Naidu in Singapore

Veerasamy Road - Little India/ Singapore Veerasamy Road was renamed twice in its history; it was originally called Inche Lane, and was renamed Jalan Tambah in 1910. In 1927, the road was renamed again as Veerasamy Road, in honour of Dr N. Veerasamy Naidu (1865-1926), one of Singapore’s first Indian doctors and a leader in the local Indian community. Munu Adhi: Former Speaker Tamilnadu Assembly and 4 times MLA

Munu Adhi (Born 4 September 1926, Died 21 June 2005) born at Tambaram near Chennai - Tamilnadu. Mr Munu Adhi started his political career as a member of the Socialist Party in 1945. He joined the DMK in 1953 and was elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly for four consecutive terms, in 1962, 1965, 1971 and 1977. Having begun his political career with the DMK, the four-time Member of the Legislative Assembly, switched his loyalty to the AIADMK in 1972 when M G Ramachandran founded the party, after breaking away from the DMK. The brothers who contributed substantially to the industrialisation of Coimbatore are G.K. Devarajulu and G.K. Sundaram . The sons of cotton merchant G.Kuppusamy Naidu, who also had a ginning unit, both evinced immense capability. Devarajulu, born in 1911, was a man with appetite for risks. He set up the Lakshmi Mills at the age of just 21. Pharma Entrepreneur Chava Satyanarayana Joins Billionaire Ranks

India’s pharma sector, which has been in the spotlight during the pandemic, has just minted a new billionaire. Satyanarayana Chava , 60, founder and CEO of the $658 million (revenue) Laurus Labs —an integrated pharma and biotech company which makes everything from pharma ingredients to enzymes and proteins—saw his personal net worth cross $1.1 billion after shares of his company jumped this week. The stock has risen 176% in the past 12 months. Laurus Labs supplies pharma ingredients for drugs to treat HIV, cancer, asthma and diabetes. The company says that one out of three HIV-infected patients in low and middle income countries are taking meds with ingredients supplied by Laurus Labs. It has marquee clients, including some of the world’s big pharma players, who buy pharma intermediates, generics and contract manufacturing research services from Laurus.
