Kony Solutions continues to accelerate and consolidate its position in the worldwide mobile enterprise services market with its acquisition of Australian SAP-certified mobility solutions provider, Sky Technologies.
Kony CEO, Raj Koneru, said the acquisition of the Melbourne-based Sky was part of the company’s ongoing strategy to simplify enterprise mobility and made Kony the “undisputed mobile and multichannel application platform leader, with a strong roster of customers of all sizes, across multiple industries and regions."
Koneru says the acquisition brings together Sky’s “deep enterprise expertise and large installed base of SAP mobile customers with Kony’s award-winning mobile and multichannel application platform, packaged mobile applications, and mobile application management (MAM) solutions.”
“The resulting solution will enable corporations of all sizes to accelerate time to revenue and time to market by harnessing highly efficient mobile technologies for both business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-employee (B2E) applications. "By combining forces with Sky, Kony enables our customers to partner with a single provider for all their mobility and multichannel needs. Our mobile solutions not only manage the mobile demands of millions of consumers who want to interact with a brand on the go, across a myriad of devices, but also the complex requirements of the workforce.”
According to Koneru, the strategic acquisition of Sky comes during a shift in computing to mobile devices, both within the enterprise and among consumers, and he said that to meet the demands created by this shift, industry analyst firm, Gartner, had recommended that businesses take a multichannel approach to their computing strategies, creating a “unified architecture encompassing mobile, rich client, desktop Web, and other digital channels to deliver optimised user experiences across the full variety of devices that users interact with every day.”
Dominique Fisher, Chairman of Sky technologies, said that Kony’s acquisition and global deployment of Sky’s valuable technology was testament to the strength and innovation of its home-grown and funded Australian team. “We can all be very proud that a high-quality Australian technology company will now merge technologies with one of the most exciting global companies in the mobile space.
