Chandra Mohan Kanneganti becomes Stoke-on-Trent's newest lord mayor

Chandra Mohan Kanneganti is the councillor for Goldenhill and Sandyford.

An National Helath Services hero has been elected Stoke-on-Trent's first citizen.

Councillor Chandra Kanneganti is the new lord mayor following today’s council vote. His deputy is Councillor Faisal Hussain, who represents Meir South.

A Labour bid for Councillor Sheila Pitt to take the top role was defeated.

Mr Kanneganti was born in India in 1975. He emigrated to the UK in 2002 to work as a doctor in the NHS.

The Goldenhill and Sandyford member became a councillor in 2019. He is a senior partner at Goldenhill Medical Centre and also manages Middleport Medical Centre.

Challapalli Fort - History of Yarlagadda Zamindars

Challapalli is a village in Krishna district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Challapalli mandal of Machilipatnam revenue division. The Rajah of Challapalli, Srimanthu Raja Yaralagadda Ankineedu Prasad Bahadur Garu built this Palace in the early 18th centaury.
