Shri S.R. Balasubramanyam born on 14 November 1938 in Sultanpet, Distt. Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) to S hri Ramabadra Naidu and Shrimati Rukmani Ammal. He did his B.A. (Hons.), B.L., M.A. Educated at Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai, Madras Law College and University of Madras, Chennai He was Member, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly 1989 - 91, 1991 - 96 and 2001 - 06 from Pongalur - Coimbatore, Leader, Congress Legislature Party and Leader of Opposition, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly 1991 -96, Member, Eleventh Lok Sabha from Nilgiris constituancy, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Parliamentary Affairs 1996 - 98, June 1996- April 1997 and May 1997- March 1998, Leader, Tamil Maanila Congress Legislature Party 2001 - 02, Leader, Congress Legislature Party 2002 - 06. In June 2016 he was Elected to Rajya Sabha and June 2016 onwards he was the Deputy Leader, AIADMK Party in Rajya Sabha. Munu Adhi: Former Speaker Tamilnadu Assembly and 4 times MLA

Munu Adhi (Born 4 September 1926, Died 21 June 2005) born at Tambaram near Chennai - Tamilnadu. Mr Munu Adhi started his political career as a member of the Socialist Party in 1945. He joined the DMK in 1953 and was elected to the Tamil Nadu Assembly for four consecutive terms, in 1962, 1965, 1971 and 1977. Having begun his political career with the DMK, the four-time Member of the Legislative Assembly, switched his loyalty to the AIADMK in 1972 when M G Ramachandran founded the party, after breaking away from the DMK. For the fourth time, he was elected to the state Assembly in 1977 when the AIADMK, headed by MGR, came to power for the first time and Munu Adhi was made the Speaker of the Assembly. He held that post till 1980.
