Known as a person who took the initiative to take the judiciary closer to the people through his initiatives like encouraging use of Telugu and technology in the state's justice dispensation system, Justice Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana of the AP high court will start functioning as acting chief justice of the high court from Monday. The centre notified that his appointment would come into force from Sunday itself.
Justice Ramana was born on August 27, 1957 at Ponnavaram village in Krishna district and obtained his degree in law from Nagarjuna University in 1982. He has displayed a keen interest in implementing Telugu in the justice administration system.
