Hyderabad-based Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd., (Narendra Paruchuri CEO) India's leading printer, has earned the distinction of being honoured as world's number one printer for the second time when the company was conferred the prestigious "SAPPI International Printer of the Year 2008" award.
It was in 2006 that Pragati created history by being the first printing company from India as well as from the entire Asian, Australian and South/Central American region to ever win this award, which had so far gone only to printers from North America, Europe and South Africa.
At a function held recently in Cape Town, South Africa, Mr. Narendra Paruchuri, CEO of Pragati Offset received the award for Pragati's own 2008 calendar. The calendar was printed on SAPPI Magno paper, with multiple 3-dimensional embossing, foiling with overprinting, gloss, textured and glitter UV varnishes and new technologies such as holographic UV coatings.
The jury's comments in judging the calendar were "A great balance between print techniques and design. Excellent use of colour, Perfect even on overlays. A perfect example of what a Printer's own Promotion piece should be."
