WSYR-TV - It was a moment Central New York will never

Watching as Fayetteville's own Nina Davuluri continued to
move to each round in the 2014 Miss America competition, an entire community
and country would see her win the crown in stunning fashion.
Nina Davuluri knocked down a few firsts that night by dazzling the Miss
America stage with the competition's first-ever Bollywood dance. She would also
become the first Indian-American woman to win the title.
Being Miss America launched Nina into the global spotlight
-- putting her platform, "Celebrating Diversity Through Cultural
Competency" center stage.
Watching Nina take the world by storm -- speaking at
countless colleges and conferences -- her poise and intelligence prove the Miss
America title truly means more than a crown.
Nina's ventures have expanded into many realms including
reality TV.
She is the host and producer of, "Made in
America," on ZeeTV Americas network. In her show, Nina aims to empower
young women to discover who they really are as they make their dreams come
true.
Her latest adventure -- Aavrani -- is budding on the beauty
and skin care scene.
Inspired by Indian beauty rituals, the skin care products
contain 12 natural ingredients including turmeric and honey.
"Rani" rooted from the Hindi word for
"queen" -- Nina and her business partner, Rooshy Roy, want each woman
to "embrace her own beauty."
Pairing her love for her South Asian heritage and hopes for
unity in all cultures -- Nina is redefining the American dream.
