Rana Daggubati all set to debut in Malayalam cinema as King of Travancore, Marthanda Varma

There have been rumors aplenty of Rana Daggubati‘s Malayalam debut. In fact, a rumours of the actor having signed a Malayalm film was doing the rounds recently until the actor himself rubbished it. But the long awaited debut is finally happening! As per the latest announcement, the actor has been roped in to play the king of Travancore – Matharanda Varma in the film titled – Anizham Thirunal Marthanda Varma. According to history, he was the king to have defeated a foreign power in India as he battled it out with the Dutch at Colachel. This is the first part of the historical drama followed by another movie on Dharmaraja aka Karthika Thirunal Marthanda Varma who succeeded Marthanda. Needless to say, this will be a project made on a grand scale.

“This will be a project on a massive scale. Scriptwriter Robin Thirumala and I have been researching intensively for the last three years. We have finalised and signed the crew that includes big names. We plan to go on floors by next August:” stated K Madhu who has stated it is grand project. As per the same report, he has confirmed that big names form Malayalm industry will be part of this film. While the lead for the first part has been finalised, the lead of Part 2 is yet to be confirmed! Apart from the actors, big names form others field have also been brough on board. Peter Hein, a renowned stunt choreographer will be part of this project, Resul Pookutty has also been signed for this ambitious tale. That’s not all. Keeravani, the maestro who composed music for baahubali will be part of this big scale project as well!

This period drama will be Rana Daggubati’s third film in the same genre. We already saw him in Baahubali where he played the cruel, ruthless king – Bhallaladeva and he also has Madai Thiranthu / 1945 coming up!

A road named after Veerasamy Naidu in Singapore

Veerasamy Road - Little India/ Singapore Veerasamy Road was renamed twice in its history; it was originally called Inche Lane, and was renamed Jalan Tambah in 1910. In 1927, the road was renamed again as Veerasamy Road, in honour of Dr N. Veerasamy Naidu (1865-1926), one of Singapore’s first Indian doctors and a leader in the local Indian community. The brothers who contributed substantially to the industrialisation of Coimbatore are G.K. Devarajulu and G.K. Sundaram . The sons of cotton merchant G.Kuppusamy Naidu, who also had a ginning unit, both evinced immense capability. Devarajulu, born in 1911, was a man with appetite for risks. He set up the Lakshmi Mills at the age of just 21. As the machinery for the cotton units were imported from Europe under the impression that those from Japan were substandard, Devarajulu visited the factory in Japan to study whether the machinery would suit Indian requirements. India’s pharma sector, which has been in the spotlight during the pandemic, has just minted a new billionaire. Satyanarayana Chava , 60, founder and CEO of the $658 million (revenue) Laurus Labs —an integrated pharma and biotech company which makes everything from pharma ingredients to enzymes and proteins—saw his personal net worth cross $1.1 billion after shares of his company jumped this week. The stock has risen 176% in the past 12 months. Laurus Labs supplies pharma ingredients for drugs to treat HIV, cancer, asthma and diabetes. The company says that one out of three HIV-infected patients in low and middle income countries are taking meds with ingredients supplied by Laurus Labs. It has marquee clients, including some of the world’s big pharma players, who buy pharma intermediates, generics and contract manufacturing research services from Laurus. Munu Adhi: Former Speaker Tamilnadu Assembly and 4 times MLA

Munu Adhi (Born 4 September 1926, Died 21 June 2005) born at Tambaram near Chennai - Tamilnadu. Mr Munu Adhi started his political career as a member of the Socialist Party in 1945.
