The Government of India has announced that UC Irvine Distinguished Professor Satyanadham Atluri will receive the 2013 Padma Bhushan Award. The country’s third-highest civilian award, the Padma Bhushan is given by the President of India to honor distinguished service of the highest order. It is announced every year on the eve of Republic Day.
Satya Atluri born in Gudivada, India, is designated as a UCI Distinguished Professor, in the Department of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering , Henry Samueli School of Engineering, at UCI. Atluri is an award-winning engineer in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and the director of the Center for Aerospace Research and Education at The Henry Samueli School of Engineering. His widely-cited research spans several disciplines and has led to greater aircraft safety and durability.
Daggubati Ramanaidu: (Padmabhushan)
Movie Mogul Daggubati Ramanaidu is one of the biggest contributors to Indian cinema. The multi-lingual filmmaker has been honoured with India's highest award in cinema - Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Ramanaidu has been conferred the third highest civilian award in the Republic of India - the Padma Bhushan Award in recognition for his contribution to Telugu cinema.
Born on 6 June 1936 in Andhra Pradesh, D Ramanaidu entered films as producer with Telugu film Anuragam in 1963. He scored his first with NT Rama Rao's Ramudu Bheemudu in 1964. Then onwards there is no look back for this most prolific filmmaker. In his career of five decades, he has produced 130 films in different Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Oriya and English.
The 49-year-old (A Kamma girl, born in Meenampatti village near Sivakasi of Virudhunagar district - Tamilnadu) who made a grand Bollywood comeback in 2012 with a strong female-centric role in "English Vinglish", boasts of a filmography of 265 movies. She came back after a 15-year sabbatical, and won hearts with her simple and subtle performance in the film as a homemaker struggling to learn English.
Married to Hindi film producer Boney Kapoor, Sridevi has two daughters - Jhanvi and Khushi. Age has failed to take a toll on her as she looks as radiant as ever and spreads the same magic in front of the camera.

Entrepreneur Rajshree Pathy, chairperson and managing director of the Coimbatore-based Rajshree Group of Companies was awarded "Padma Shri" by Indian government in 2013.
In 1996, Rajshree Pathy received the Global Leaders of Tomorrow recognition from the World Economic Forum, Davos (Switzerland). She was awarded the Eisenhower Exchange Fellowship in 2000. She has been the President of Indian Sugar Mills Association from 2004 to 2005. She was the Chairperson of CII National Committee on Textiles from 1996 to 1999.
Rajshree Pathy is the daughter of famous industrialist Shri G. Varadaraj, of PSG Families engaged in Charities and Educational Institutions for more than a century. Her father was also a former Rajya Sabha MP. She is married to S.Pathy, Chairman & Managing director of Lakshmi Mills.
