8-year-old Ashrita Vadlapatla of Renaissance Classical Christian Academy outlasted 10-year-old Hahn Lheem of Stoney Point Elementary. The pair battled for 81 out of the bee's 93 rounds. The other 10 competitors - all of them the winners of district-level bees - dropped out by misspelling words in the first 12 rounds.
