New York: Highly successful Businessman and Philanthropist Babu Rao Mandava received the prestigious Ellis Island Medal of Honor for 2011. He is the founder and CEO of Indotronix International Corporation (IIC) with more than 800 employees, and resides in Poughkeepsie, NY.
The Ellis Island Medals of Honor celebrate the diversity of American life, honoring not only individuals, but the pluralism and democracy that have enabled ancestry groups to maintain their identities while becoming integral parts of the American Way of life. A ceremony will be held on May 7, 2011 on Ellis Island.
Babu Rao Mandava was born May 15th 1935 in the Village of Movva, Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh, in a middle class farming family that had a strong interest in helping their fellow human beings. His father founded The Mandava Kanakayya Zilla Parishad High School in 1947. Currently, Sri.Babu Rao is the founder and CEO of Indotronix International Corporation (IIC), and resides in Poughkeepsie, NY.
After working nineteen years with IBM in management, he took an early retirement and cofounded an IT company, Indotronix International Corporation (IIC). As president and CEO, Babu Mandava, in the past 24 years, has provided employment to thousands of people, among these, many Indian immigrants. IIC, with over 800 employees, works closely with several Fortune 500 companies in the USA, and has a major presence in both USA and India.
