Leading ID Management Firm gets global recognition at World ID Summit
HYDERABAD: 4G IDENTITY SOLUTIONS (4G) announces the Chairman & CEO Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni was awarded the 2010 “ID Outstanding Achievement Award” under the annual global “ID People Awards” series, in Milan, Italy.
Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni was presented the award at the ID World International Congress held in Milan, Italy last week where 450 leading CEOs, high ranking officials and ministers from various countries attended. ID leaders from Finland, United Kingdom, Bahrain, Nigeria and other countries competed for this award, which is considered to be the ‘Oscar’ of ID World. Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni, after his nomination to the final round, emerged as the winner among the five contestants with highest e-voting across the globe.
It is his untiring and pioneering effort in bringing India from nowhere to the state-of-the art in biometric ID management; for developing technology and processes for emerging countries, besides successfully implementing the world's largest unique citizen ID database that brought him the award, competing with all other leading nations.
The ID People Awards are given each year to outstanding members of the ID management community who have distinguished themselves for commitment, leadership, creativity and innovation. The awards are the world’s most highly regarded recognition of contributions by thought leaders, innovators and pioneering adopters that drive the development of ID technologies.
Dr. Tripuraneni Lakshmi, Managing Director 4G said, “When we started introducing ID technologies in India in 2003, it was hard to get anyone to pay even lip service to its potential. Due to the vision and tireless efforts of Dr. Sreeni, 4G has now proven the socio-economic benefits on a large scale, while developing technologies and processes customized for India.”
It’s for the first time that India won two out of five awards at the ID World Congress as Mr. Nandan Nilekani, chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) was recognized with the “ID Limelight Award.”
Dr. Sreeni Tripuraneni said, “I am humbled by this award, and I accept it on behalf of the 4G family, which has worked countless sleepless nights to overcome unbelievable odds. Our vision could hardly have seen the light of day without Mr. Nandan Nilekani providing leadership and coordination at the national level. All Indians should congratulate and be proud of Mr. Nilekani.”
