JACKSON, MI, September 23, 2010 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Uma Venigalla, Ph.D., BTS Quality Assurance Technical Lead for CMS Energy, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in project management.
BTS quality assurance technical lead for CMS Energy, Ms. Venigalla thrives by utilizing her expertise in software development and integration, as well as vendor product evaluation. In her position, she advises large software development projects, oversees maintenance across BTS on planning, deployment and management of test efforts, and manages the software development life cycle. In addition, she builds work plans for all phases of testing, ensures proper test scripts, supports an audit trail, manages quality assurance policies, procedures, quality assurance best practices around testing standards and methodologies, and improves testing methodology design and development. By working with test tool applications such as the quality center, she utilizes suite of testing tools for all testing efforts, trains new users on tools and assists with building test scripts.
Dr. Venigalla received her Ph.D. in Marine Toxicology (1984), Master of Science (1979) and Bachelor of Science (1977), all from Andhra University in India. She attained her designation as a certified software test professional and as a certified quality assurance tester through the International Institute for Software Testing.
CMS Energy provides electricity and natural gas. Prior to joining the utility, Ms. Venigalla worked as a PEGA QA architect for Auto-Owners Insurance, Test Lead for DTE Energy Company, Quality Assurance Lead and Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for ABN AMRO Services Company, Inc., and quality assurance engineer for InterFirst. The author of 80 research papers, she has presented her papers at international scientific seminars in John Hopkins Medical University. A member of Quality Assurance and Test Professionals/Analysts, SAP Professionals of America and The International Institute for Software Testing, she attributes her success to her commitment, hard work and goal-oriented nature. In the approaching years, she aspires to work her way up to the position of quality assurance manager.
