Mumbai, 20 May: In a thrilling 11th and last round of the Mumbai Mayor's International Chess Tournament, overnight sole leader, Michael Kransenow who was assured of the title with a round to spare, was not content with a draw and went for a win against his Uzebk opponent, grandmaster Anton Fillipov of Uzbekistan.
However; in a winning position he made a mistake and lost the game.
This allowed Fillipov and as also players occupying the second spot, grandmaster Koneru Humpy, grandmaster Abhijit Kunte from India, grandmaster Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh and grandmaster Saidali Iuldachev of Uzbekistant catch up with Kransenkow by scoring the win over their respective rivals.
