It's yellow fever now every where in Vijayawada. UNPA organising a big rally and meeting with about 10 lakh farmers in V.R.Siddartha Engineering College grounds, Kanuru, Vijayawada today.
UNPA leaders, including Samajwadi Party President and former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, Asom Ganaparishat chief Brundavan Goswami, National Lokdal leader Om Prakash Chautala and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah, former Jarkhand Chief Minister Babulal Murandi are participating in the meeting. While CPM is not attending the rally, CPI has deputed its Kisan Sabha secretary Atul Anjan.
The leaders will participate in a rally from NTR Circle at 2 p.m., which will culminate at V.R. Siddhartha Engineering College grounds for a public meeting at 3 p.m. The rally will cover a 4-km stretch of NH-9 towards Machilipatnam, passing through some of the busy commercial localities. The route of the rally as well as the venue of the public meeting have already been decked up with banners, cut-outs, flags, buntings and various other publicity material in yellow.
UNPA convener and Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu hoped that UNPA would emerge as a formidable force capable of influencing the course of political events after the next Lok Sabha elections.
"It is only a matter of time that other like-minded parties join our efforts and the Third Front eventually emerges", said Naidu, a key player in recently-formed alliance.
