Satya Nadella ranked 64 in Forbes 'The Worlds'Most Powerful People 2014'

There are 7.2 billion people on the planet. These are the 72 who rule the world.

What do the president of Russia, the richest man in China and the first woman ever to head a Big 8 automaker, Giant IT company CEO have in common? They’re all featured on Forbes’ 2014 ranking of the World’s Most Powerful People – an annual snapshot of the heads of state, CEOs, financiers, philanthropists and entrepreneurs who truly run the world.

The list represents the collective wisdom of FORBES editors and advisors, who consider hundreds of nominees before ranking the planet’s 72 power brokers — one for every 100 million on Earth. Forbes measure their power along four dimensions.

Of the group of newcomers this year, six are CEOS. Microsoft MSFT Satya Nadella took over this year when Steve Ballmer retired in February. Nadella is now tasked with recovering the company from massive layoffs of 18,000 employees and meeting the shift from PC to mobile. He is No. 64 on the list.

Bhavanam Jayaparada (77), ex-State Minister (was a Kamma, native of Brahmana Koduru-Guntur district) and wife of former Chief Minister Bhavanam VenkataramReddy died in Hyderabad on Saturday. She was the Minister for Power for some time in 1973 in P.V.Nar masimhaRao cabinet , She was elected twice ( 1967,72 ) as MLA from Vinukonda . Jayaprada is survived by two daughters.
