Political injustice to Kammas in AP

ఈ ప్రభుత్వం ప్రవచించే సామాజిక న్యాయం అంటే, కమ్మవారిని పదవులకు దూరంగా ఉంచటమేనా ? గుంటూరు జిల్లాలో జనాభా పరంగా మరియు యం.యల్.ఏ ల సంఖ్య లోను ఎక్కువగా ఉన్న కమ్మవారికి రాజకీయ పదవులలో దక్కిన వాటా ఎంత ? ఆరుగురు యం.యల్.ఏ లు ఉన్నామంత్రివర్గంలో ఒక్క పదవీ దక్కలేదు. కమ్మవారు అధికంగా ఉన్నా జిల్లాలన్నీ రిజర్వేషన్ కిందకు తీసుకువెళ్ళారు. గతంలో కనీసం ఇద్దరు, ముగ్గురు తక్కువ కాకుండా కమ్మ జిల్లా పరిషత్ ఛైర్మన్ లు ఉండేవారు. ప్రస్తుతం ఒక్క కమ్మ జిల్లా పరిషత్ ఛైర్మన్ కూడా లేకపోవటం బాధాకరం. గుంటూరు మున్సిపల్ కార్పరేషన్లో, విజయవాడ మున్సిపల్ కార్పరేషన్లో కమ్మ కార్పరేటర్ల సంఖ్య ఎక్కువగా ఉన్నా, మేయర్ పదవికి దూరంగా ఉంచారు. దీనికి కారణం నెల్లూరు నుండి విజయవాడకు దిగుమతి చేసుకుని ఎం.పి గా గెలిపించుకున్న లగడపాటి రాజగోపాల్. విజయవాడలో కమ్మవారికి కనీసం డిప్యూటీ మేయర్ పదవి దక్కింది కాని, గుంటూరులో మాత్రం ఏపదవి దక్కలేదు. కమ్మవారికి రాజకీయంగా అన్యాయం జరుగుతుందని కమ్మ సంఘాల సమావేశాలలో బాధపడిన రాయపాటి సాంబశివరావు తన తమ్ముడికి యం.యల్.సి పదవి ఇప్పించుకుని, తన కొడుకుకి మేయర్ పదవికి హామీ పొంది తనవారికి న్యాయం చేసుకుని కమ్మకులాన...

Lanco in tie-up talks with global operator for non-metro airports

Hyderabad: Integrated infrastructure developer Lanco Infratech Ltd, a company with interests in power and construction, is in talks with an international airport operator to be a partner as it bids for new airport contracts in small Indian towns. “The global airports operator that we are currently talking to has an experience of handling close to 60 million passengers a year, and is now operating three airports globally. We expect to firm up the deal very soon,” said Lanco group chairman Lagadapati Madhusudhan Rao.He declined to name the global airport operator. Lanco, with Rs1,647 crore in revenues last fiscal year, had in the past held talks with Houston Airport Systems, the fourth largest airport operator in the US, to be a partner, but did not conclude a deal, said Sanjay Diwakar Joshi, executive director at Lanco. Unitech to join hands with Prasad Potluri (PVP)

Chennai 27, December: Unitech, one of India’s largest real estate developer, is making an aggressive entry into the booming realty market in south. It is on the verge of announcing two joint development deals, involving over 1,400 acres of prime land in Hyderabad and Chennai. Unitech is set to shortly unveil its 50:50 joint venture deal with serial entrepreneur Prasad V Potluri’s PVP Enterprises which owns around 1,300 acres in Hyderabad’s Shamshadabad region, the most happening part of the city in terms of property development. Unitech will also unveil, over the next few days, a 55:45 joint venture deal for developing 8.8 million sq ft of residential property on the 70-acre Binny land near Perambur in north Chennai, owned by SSI, sources privy to the development told ET. In February this year, PVP Enterprises picked up a controlling stake in SSI. It now owns 62% equity stake in SSI, which include acquisition of 42% equity stake held by the Kalpathi brothers - Aghoram, Ganesh and Sures...

Suven Life bags US patent for compounds for neuro drug

Hyderabad, Dec. 27: Suven Life Sciences Ltd has obtained a product patent from the US Patent Office for the class of selective Serotonin receptor affinity compounds discovered by Suven and being developed as therapeutic agents. The patent (US 7,297,711) was the first product patent granted in the US for the Hyderabad-based company. According to the invention 711 patent disclosure, the compounds are useful in the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson, Schizophrenia, and Huntington’s. “We are very pleased by the issuance of this patent to Suven by US Patent office for our drug candidates that are being developed for CNS (central nervous system) disorders which targets a $18-billion potential market opportunity,” Mr Venkat Jasti, CEO of Suven, said in a release. 29 patents filed Suven has so far filed 29 product patent application...
