Manyam Munirathna Naidu registers massive victory in RR Nagar

Congress candidate Manyam   Muniratna Naidu today won Rajarajeshwari Nagar assembly seat for the 2nd time by beating BJP candidate with a margin of 41,162 votes. The recent Congress-JDS alliance against BJP in Karnataka did not prevent a triangular contest in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, where JDS came a distant third. Earlier, the constituency was scheduled to go to polls on May 12 with 222 other constituencies of Karnataka but was postponed in light of the alleged fake voter ID scam. Hence, the elections in the constituency were conducted on May 28.

Nekkanti Bhaskar Rao is the current Rajya Sabha member and Vice President of the Biju Janata Dal party - Odisha. Dr Gurram Ramprakash from Vijayawada city secured All-India first rank in Surgical Gastroenterology in JIPMER Super Specialty Entrance Test. After completing MBBS from Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Medical College, he did his MS from Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam where he bagged a gold medal and also the best student of the University award. “I come from a rural background and I have grown up seeing the vast gap in accessibility to medical services to the different sections of the society. Vennam Jyothi Surekha team win silver and bronze at Archery World Cup

Jyothi Surekha Vennam was instrumental in India's compound team clinching two medals at the Archery World Cup. It’s been an eventful year so far for Jyothi Surekha Vennam , one of India’s best compound archers. Last month, she teamed up with Abhishek Verma to win bronze at the Archery World Cup (Stage 1) in Shanghai. Barely two weeks later, she announced that she would go on an indefinite hunger strike in her hometown Vijayawada, due to the alleged delay in payment of Rs 1 crore promised to her by the Andhra Pradesh government, after she received the Arjuna Award for 2017. The 21-year-old, however, called off the strike after receiving assurances from government officials. The off-field distraction did little to dampen Jyothi’s spirits though, especially in the run-up to the ongoing World Cup (Stage 2) in Antalya. Sriharsha Doddapaneni Wins The Big Millions 2.0 (INR 25.5 Lakh)

Sriharsha Doddapaneni is the champion of Adda52 hosted Big Millions 2.0. The winner took home a massive amount of INR 25.5 Lakh.  The Big Millionaire   Overall, it’s been a great poker year for Doddapaneni in both live and online events. It was just last month when he shipped the 200k Super High Roller at the DPT Colossus SHR series in Goa. He collected his best live poker cash of INR 28,70,000 at the tournament. The Big Millions started off at Adda52 in March this year and the tournament went live on their website. The final table, though, was laid out at the Deltin Royale in Goa. Meghana Bollimpalli won the Young Scientist Award in the Intel ISEF 2018

Meghana Chowdary Bollimpalli of Little Rock Central High School was named a grand prize winner in the Intel International Science and Engineering fair. She won the Young Scientist Award and $50,000, plus $1,000 for her school.  Meghana Bollimpalli , 17, of Little Rock, Arkansas, received one of two Intel Foundation Young Scientist Awards of $50,000 for her novel, low-cost approach for synthesizing materials that could greatly cut the production and energy costs of making electrodes for devices like super capacitors. She found that combining common substances like tea and molasses with nitrogen and phosphorus in a commercial microwave formed a powder that could be used as a coating for electrode-like materials giving them similar properties of more expensive metals like platinum.

Brazil honour for Mullapudi Narendranath

Recognition of his service in conservation of Ongole cattle Mullapudi Narendranath , Joint Managing Director of Andhra Sugars Limited, was honoured by two Brazilian States for his contribution in the conservation and improvement of the Ongole cattle in India. The 84th Expozebu held at Uberaba in the Minas Gerais State commemorated 80 years of genealogical registration of Indian cattle breeds in Brazil according to a press statement from Andhra Sugars. Bharat Biotech receives National Technology Award

Leading vaccine maker Bharat Biotech ( Krishna Ella - Chairman and Managing Director, Suchitra Ella - Chairperson ) on Friday received the National Technology Award for 2018 from the Central government’s Technology Development Board for its Rotavac vaccine. This prestigious award for innovative technologies, successfully developed and commercialized from India, was presented by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Technology Day ceremony held at Vigyan in New Delhi. Launched in 2015 Rotavac was introduced into the Universal Immunization Programme (UIP) in India during 2016, with initial implementation in 9 states.   Till date, Bharat Biotech has supplied about 35 million doses to the UIP. Four Kammas seafood companies line up 2500 cr IPOs

Four Indian seafood companies are trying to cash in on the booming shrimp exports by going for an IPO. In last few years, Indian seafood exports have been recouping losses suffered due to the punitive tariff imposed by the US in 2004 and the decline in capture fisheries with the help of vannamei shrimp production, which is cheaper than the traditional black tiger. According to trade sources, Indian aquaculture production is estimated to touch a record seven lakh tonne during the current fiscal and reach one million tonne by 2020. Nekkanti Sea Foods ( MD - Nekkanti VenkataRao ), Devi Seafoods ( MD - Potra  Brahmanandam ), and Sandhya Marines ( MD - Kondragunta  Venkata Prasad ) have filed draft prospectuses with capital markets regulator SEBI. GM Rohit Lalith Babu wins National Chess Rapid title

Grandmaster Musunuri Lalith Babu clinched the National Rapid Championship title at the Gujarat State Co.op. Bank Ltd. (A.C Hall). Lalith defeated GM Swapnil Dhopade of Indian Railways in the final round while GM Aravindh Chidambaram edged out IM Dinesh Sharma on top board. After a tough and nail-biting final round, Aravindh and Lalith tied for the first place with 9.5/11 points respectively. While Lalith emerged as the champion with a better tie-break score, Aravindh secured the second place. An asteroid named after Prithvi Gundlapalli

Gundlapalli Prithvi gets prestigious Singapore National Award instituted by City State’s  founding Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew for academic excellence. The International Astronomical Union (IAU) also named an asteroid after him in recognition of Prithvi’s project. Gundlapalli Prithvi , who hails from Hyderabad and is an alumnus of Hyderabad Public School (HPS), Begumpet, created history by being awarded the 2014 Lee Kuan Yew Award for all round achievement in Mathematics and Science in Singapore. Prithvi recently received the award from Indranee Rajah, senior minister of state for ministry of law and for ministry of education, Singapore. Aluminium alloy wheel manufacturer Synergies Castings has announced plans to set up a ₹650-crore greenfield alloy wheel making facility near the port city of Visakapatnam. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh government earlier this year to establish an aluminium casting and speciality alloy wheel manufacturing facility. The new greenfield facility, with an annual production capacity of 2.4 million units per annum, has been bench marked at 18 inch wheel size. It is expected to have sophisticated casting, machining, painting facilities with embedded digital manufacturing technologies. This agreement sets the stage for building one of the largest single location alloy wheel manufacturing projects, with a facility to expand this to 5 million wheels per annum in multiple phases. The U.S. Tennis Association announced Tuesday, eight top junior boys qualified for the 2018 Team USA National Junior Team including Niroop Vallabhaneni , 15, of Paradise Valley . The junior team is a training program designed to give a collection of America’s top young players, born in either 2002 or 2003, opportunities to train together during the summer and travel to play against top junior competition from around the world, a press release states. Vallabhaneni is Tennis Recruiting’s No. 38-ranked player nationally and No. 1 in Arizona in the Class of 2020. All eight players qualified for the team through a playoff, April 13-18 at the USTA National Campus at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla. Players were invited for the playoff based on tournament results, USTA national or International Tennis Federation world ranking.
