Suneel Cherukuri Named DC’s New Chief Information Security Officer

Washington, DC – Interim Chief Technology Officer Barney Krucoff this week named Suneel Cherukuri as the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) overseeing cybersecurity for the District of Columbia Government. Cherukuri, who has been working at the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) for 10 years as a contractor and employee, has over 20 years of industry experience in large enterprise network environments specializing in cyber security architecture, design, engineering and operations. Though 2018 has been a year full of scandals and data breaches for tech industry, some employees still praised their executives for their leadership, of which Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella surpassed all. Naveen Kadiyala appointed as the Global Head of Tech Mahindra’s ‘Video Integration and Engineering’ (VIE)

T services firm Tech Mahindra today announced that it was setting up a new ‘Video Integration and Engineering’ (VIE) business unit to leverage cutting edge technology and solutions to cater to the heavy demand of video services in the 5G ecosystem. Video is slated to account for 90% of all 5G traffic on account of mobile video and Over The Top (OTT) streaming services. The company has appointed Naveen Kadiyala as the Global Head of the newly established ‘Video Integration and Engineering’ (VIE). He was earlier CEO, Nuovo Solutions. With the establishment of the new VIE platform, Tech Mahindra would aim to improve its strategic position with several video distribution companies in the United States of America. Archery coach Cherukuri Satyanarayana does yoga mudra, sets world record

Cherukuri SatyaNarayana , founder and chief coach of Cherukuri Volga Archery Academy, created a world record by doing the yoga mudra for 10,832 times in 92 minutes in Vijayawada on Thursday. He formed three different positions of the Yoga Mudra by his arms. At an event organised by the academy, Satya Narayana sat in the position of doing the yoga mudra, and the students of the academy shot arrows at the dart target board above his head. Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao presented a certificate of acknowledgement to Satya Narayana for setting the world record. “It is very important to encourage such talent. Also, this less-known sport should be encouraged. By setting this record, Satya Narayana has brought it in the limelight,” said an official of the India and Asia Book of Records.

Rao Mulpuri’s View secures US$1.1bn (Rs.8,025 crores) investment from SoftBank Vision Fund

Industry-leading smart glass firm View announced on 2 November that it has secured a US$1.1bn (Rs.8,025 crores) investment from the SoftBank Vision Fund in response to rapidly increasing demand View’s Dynamic Glass, currently installed in 35mn square feet of buildings, offers adaptable tinting in place of conventional windows, optimizing natural light’s positive effect in the workplace. “View makes the entire skin of buildings intelligent for the first time,” the firm’s statement read. “This improves human health and wellness by preserving unobstructed views, automatically letting in the optimum amount of natural light, and greatly reducing heat and glare. Akkineni Sreekar Prasad, better known as Sreekar Prasad, is an Indian film editing professional, known for his works in Indian cinema. M Nageshwar Rao was appointed as  the new  interim director of the Central  Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella Hits $25.8M (Rs.190 crores) In Total Pay

Satya Nadella ’s compensation package rose 29 percent during fiscal 2018, according to an SEC filing. Strong financial growth and leadership in key areas at Microsoft led CEO Satya Nadella to receive an increase to his compensation package of 29 percent in fiscal year 2018. Nadella received total compensation of $25.8 million (Rs.190 crores)  in fiscal 2018 , which ended June 30, according to a proxy filing Tuesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. That's compared to pay of $20 million during the previous fiscal year, and $17.7 million in compensation during fiscal 2016. The increase in CEO pay came during a year that saw Microsoft revenue surge to $110.36 billion, up 14.2 percent from $96.57 billion during fiscal 2017. Nadella's pay was based upon both quantitative and qualitative performance, according to Microsoft's proxy filing. Bharat Nalluri is a film and television director, who came to the fore directing the pilot episodes of Spooks (also known as MI-5), Life on Mars, and Hustle (which he also helped to conceive) all for transmission on BBC One. GITAM University founder MVVS Murthi dies in car accident in US

Murthy was travelling with four others from California to Alaska to visit a wildlife safari near Anchorage when their car collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. GITAM University director and Andhra Pradesh state Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Dr Mathukumilli Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Murthi , popularly known as MVVS Murthi, died in a car accident in the United States of America on Tuesday. He also served as Member of Parliament from Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency twice. Murthi along with four others was travelling from California to Alaska to visit a wildlife safari near Anchorage when their car collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. Four people, including Murthi, died in the accident while one person has been admitted to the hospital in a serious condition, reports reaching here said. Cherukuri Ravishankar appointed as Monsanto India MD

Monsanto India, a subsidiary of Bayer group, has appointed Cherukuri Ravishankar as the Managing Director for its businesses in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. This is the first major change in Monsanto India after German pharma and chemical major Bayer AG had in June this year completed the $63-billion mega deal to acquire the US-based biotech major Monsanto. According to a company statement, Ravishankar will replace Shilpa Divekar Nirula, who now moves on to a senior leadership position at the parent company Bayer. However, she would continue to remain as a non-executive director of the company. “Ravishankar, who has earlier been a non-executive director of the company, has been instrumental in conceptualising and implementing strategic initiatives in commercial and modernising supply chain operations of the company,” the statement said. He brings with him 21 years of experience across multiple functions, including commercial, strategy and supply chain.

The Davidson Institute for Talent Development has announced the 2018 Davidson Fellows. 18-year-old Rajiv Movva of San Jose won a $10,000 Davidson Fellows Scholarship for his project, SNPpet: Deep Learning the Human Epigenome Reveals Regulatory Sequence Patterns and Genomic Mechanisms of Disease.
