Rishika Sunkara #3 ranked Tennis player in India

Rishika Sunkara is a professional tennis player currently ranked number 3 in the country.

Rishika Sunkara, born on 14th may 1993 in Vijayawada and settled in New Delhi, started playing tennis from the age of six. She got interested in the game by watching her brother Rithvik play. She started winning tournaments at an early age which showed her focus and interest in the game.

These are some of Rishika's career highlights


She represented India in the World juniors at the age of 14, team India had qualified for the World Juniors finals in Czech Republic after a gap of 6 years.

She started playing ITF juniors (under-18) at the age of 14. She qualified for the AUSTRALIAN OPEN JUNIORS at the age of 16. She also represented India in the qualifying events of JUNIOR WIMBLEDON and US OPEN JUNIOR GRAND SLAM.

She represented India for the JUNIOR FEDERATION CUP for two consecutive years.

She started playing professional tennis i.e. the women's category at the age of 16.

She won her maiden ITF $10,000 title in may 2012 held in New Delhi.

She won her maiden ITF $10,000 doubles title in aug 2012 partnering Olexandra Korishivilli from Ukraine.

She won her 2nd ITF $10,100 doubles title in June 2013 partnering Naomi Totka from Hungary.

She is presently ranked number 3 in India.
